Call me crazy, deranged with pregnancy hormones, etc. but I'm actually thinking about doing this. The more I read, the more I'm convinced that I should give it a shot. 3.4 million tons of waste in the landfill each year. 27.4 billion diapers rotting away.
One company has a 30 day, be happy, dry, and clean or you get a full refund policy. Another allows you to trade in your now too small cloth diapers for a 50% credit towards your next purchase. They look easy to put together, and some are just plain cute. They've really come a long way since my cousin was wrapped in cloth and huge pins!
Right now, without sleep deprevation and high on nesting hormones, it sounds relatively easy and affordable. What I'd like to do is find someone out there who is doing this and can give me the real scoop. Any advice anyone?

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Cloth diapering!!!! LOVE it. Just be warned it CAN be addictive! LOL Mostly because they're so stinking cute (the diapers AND the babies of course in them!)!! I have tons and tons and tons of WAHM's websites who either make them or sell them. Oh I so love them! LOL My email is: My3gifts@aol.com

Email me and I'm happy to share links and links!! Oh and yeah it's good for the environment, if you do it right, can be good for the pocketbook (or bad..depends on if it becomes an addiction! LOL)! MOST cd babies have less diaper rashes, because you change their bottoms more often, and they're not having their tushes up against something with all kinds of chemicals in them either!

Amy, thanks for your comment on Ollie's blog. I am a little surprised I didn't receive more comments like yours... My heart is currently breaking for this particular birthmother, her two lost girls, and my dear friend caught in the middle of all of this. And, of course, my heart always aches for "I"...

Congratulations on your pregnancy- and here's a little secret...I'm pregnant too! 10 weeks now!

Big hugs,
Shana

I could never go this route but there are a lot of people on my blogroll that do cloth or have done cloth.

Purple_Kangaroo has a long post with reviews and thoughts on many varieties. I will look for the post.

I meant to comment the other day, I just got distracted and never made it make to the computer.

I too love cloth diapering. They are just adorable. I have a bunch of prefolds and different covers plus, my best friend made me some pocket diapers which - then she taught me how to make them too! I too would be happy to email you more about this.

I guess my question would be, is it more challenging to use cloth if you're already running around with three older children? I do understand the benefits of cloth and I would give it a try if I could be assured that it would be at least as easy as disposable! You'll have to let me know how it goes! :)

I looked at lots of websites that sell them when we were waiting for Martina in 2005, but with all of the other preparations we were making, I never did follow up. If you do it, let us know how it works for you!

I'm thinking about the newborn stage, where they nurse and go through diapers left and right. Such a waste.
There are diapers called BumGenuis that I could use from newborn up to 35 pounds. I'm not too excited about doing this when the big, stinky dumps start, but in the beginning it's not too bad.
We'll see. Today I feel so blagh I can't even get excited about changing anything . . .

We use cloth and we love it! I just posted about our cloth diapering adventures for our two new additions here. I would definitely encourage you to try it if you thinking about cloth diapers.

With love,
Penelope
