We Love to Explore

We are always searching for new places to visit as a family. We have found that new places are either really great or somewhat of a bust. Many travel books "talk up" a place and there's a let down when we get there. Because of this, we tend to visit new places based on friends who have been there and had a great time. So I thought I would pass these places along to you! Who isn't looking for a fun place to take the family?

A few weeks ago we went to the Ripley Aquarium in Gatlinburg. It was a great aquarium for kids. We've been to some bigger aquariums and pretty soon every fish starts to look the same, and the kids get squirrely. This place was the right size, and had great things for the kids to do. The only thing I disliked was the fact that you have to exit through the gift shop. Talk about torture!! If I had known we would have brought blind folds!

"Here comes the sting ray David!" There was a great area for the kids to "pet" the sting rays, and watch the divers feed them.
What kid doesn't like sharks!?!? There is a lagoon that you can walk "under" on a moving sidewalk. There are sharks, sawfish, sea turtles, and all sorts of neat things. My kids loved to watch the sharks swim over them. It was a "long" walk of 10 minutes or so.

The kids loved to pop up in the middle of these aquariums. This place was really well done and family oriented.
