Another ADD post

I'm proud of myself.

This morning, while Dave continued to rest with the baby, I got the other three up and on their way to school. This may not seem like a major achievement, but considering where I was two weeks ago, this is quite an accomplishment.

Nothing is harder for me than having to sit and watch as the world goes by. Dave is doing an amazing job as Mr. Mom, but it's not how I want life to be. I have missed being a part of things, contributing to the household.

It feels good to be me again. Well, at least somewhat. I've got another month where lifting more than 5-1o lbs is a "no-no", but I can deal with that as long as I'm not in pain, bleeding, etc.

Yesterday I was watching TV, and the emergency notification started to honk. I thought there was something heinous in the works, but it was merely a winter storm advisory . . . for Friday. Yes, we are possibly getting a few inches of snow tomorrow and they are giving us 48 hours of notification. 48 hours!

I think about when we lived in Michigan, and we used to wake up to inches on top of inches of fresh snow.

"Did you know they were calling for this?"

"No".

And that was it.

I made this the other night and if you have a bread machine, you should try it. Prior to this recipe, I had plans to take the thing to the Goodwill because it didn't make anything we really enjoyed. Then I came upon this, and the Oster has a permanent place on my shelves again.

Honey Whole Wheat Bread

1.5 cups water
2 t salt
1/3 cup honey
2 1/4 cups bread flour
2 cups whole wheat flour
2T shortening
2T dry milk
1t bread machine yeast

This will make you a 2 lb loaf of the most wonderful bread in the world. Time it right and serve it fresh and hot with dinner.

Enjoy and please share if you have a yummy recipe for your bread machine. I'd love to try something new.
