War

This breaks my heart.

What bothers me even more is that I can tell you the name of the intern that David Letterman had an affair with, but I had no idea the names of these men until I came across this article.

Their names are Sgt. Joshua J. Kirk of South Portland, Maine; Spc. Michael P. Scusa of Villas, New Jersey; Spc. Stephen L. Mace of Lovettsville, Virg.; Spc. Christopher T. Griffin of Kincheloe, Michigan; and Pfc. Kevin C. Thomson of Reno, Nevada.

I haven't heard anything about them, as individuals, on the news.

Have you?

I do know that they were packing and planning to come home two days prior to the attack.

My husband has over two months left, and yet he has already started to pack. We talk and make plans about our lives together once he returns. There is already such excitement and we still have far to go.

I cannot imagine getting a call two days before he was set to leave country.

So close to being done.

So close to being home, enjoying fall and the holidays.

The government is planning to meet today to review their strategy in Afghanistan.

It's about time.

Something needs to be done.

By the way.

The name of Letterman's fling?

Stephanie.

I agree with you. I get so sick of the "Hollywood" crap (or I guess in this case it'd be New York).

Praying for your husband's unit that as they close up this deployment, that it's safe and tragedy free.

Last summer when one of the units from here was getting ready to come home their sister unit (well it's a Brigade, the majority are here while they redo things down in Vecinza,) the company out of Vecinza was attacked on their drive to the airfield to come home, it was awful. I just couldn't get over the thought of getting that awful knock on the door. As much as we know we shouldn't be breathing easier until they're literally out of country, those last days there is a bit of breathing easier. :(
