A local church made "Daddy dolls" for the families of deployed soldiers. I requested two, as we already have one. I figured this would give each child a special something to remember their Daddy by, especially since saying good-bye is still so fresh.

I explained to the kids who would be coming and what they were bringing. I needed to do some prep work so the kids wouldn't burst out, saying "WE ALREADY HAVE ONE! WHY DID YOU MAKE US ANOTHER ONE?"

Two of my kids were thrilled with the gifts, but one wanted nothing to do with it. "All they do is make me think about my Daddy more, which makes me sadder. I don't want one because they make me miss him too much."

Can you guess which one of my kids feels this way?

That is so sad. It makes me want to jump in the car to give him a big ole hug. Heart wrenching.

I'd say David, but since Anna's not holding one, her?
