Williams, of Glenwood, who was leading a five-vehicle convoy with the 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, was one of four people in the vehicle who all died, his wife was told on Monday evening. Williams was killed on Monday when the vehicle he was in hit a roadside bomb in Kandu.
Williams was scheduled to return home to his wife and three daughters next month.
