And the Wait Continues . . .

Being an Army wife, I should know that this is part of our "normal" life. Nothing, and I mean nothing, is ever concrete in our life until it is physically happening. Your husband may call and say "I'll be leaving work in five minutes", and you can count on that . My hubby doesn't call until he is physically driving home because something always comes up in those last few minutes at the office. People on the west coast calculate the time difference and realize "Darn! It's almost 5:00 there! I need to call NOW otherwise I can't do this or that . . . "

One of the reasons I worked the job that I did was the ability to be extremely flexible. I can't tell you how many times "something" would change and he would be out the door, for days, with little to no notice.

It's our life.

And I love it. Most of the time.

There is a lot of waiting and changing of plans. Any military wife will tell you that flexibility is an absolute MUST to surviving, and thriving, in the military world.

Still, it isn't always easy, especially when you've had your heart set on homecoming for months. I know what I know, that until he's in the air, physically on his way home, I should have my heart set on very little. Somehow, however, I've had a hard time remembering this as I wait for news.

Yes, there is still dust so nothing is moving at this time. He was initially supposed to be leaving a week ago today, and between work issues and weather, we are taking it one day at a time.

Waiting.

Praying.

Because that is all we can do.

i have been there it seems like a hundred times. i love the shirts by the way, you did a great job. i finally think we are out of wait mode. we were waiting to see where we were moving. first it was riley and they would not take our DD then korea as a family and they could not take our DD so now we know we are going to Bragg. Sometimes army life is great, and the sand storms are early, i swear i think they bring home half the dessert with them.
