So we have yeast.

Yeast on my boobs and yeast on his bottom. Quite a pair, huh? I finally put two and two together yesterday after realizing that nipples should not hurt after a month of nursing. After a month of constant feedings and pumping, they are usually numb and can be twisted every which way without any complaints. My are pink and burning. His bottom looks to be doing the same.

That, coupled with his reflux, and he is quite the charmer. He is only happy when held upright, and anything that puts pressure on his belly is a "no-go". Yup, that means the swing, bouncy seat, and car seat are things that he dislikes. Intensely. My lifesavers/buy me five minutes to get something done are pretty much useless. It gets done during nap time or when hubby gets home in the evening. Unfortunately, he leaves for 419 days starting at the end of next month so that stress in addition to a fussy baby, and you can guess my mental state right now.

On a positive note, he finally slept for a three hour stretch last night so I am rejoicing. Give me four and I'll be good to go.

I hate to wish this period of time away, but it'll be so nice when things are "fixed". Well, "fixed" is rather unachievable when you have kids, so maybe I should use the word settled. I so look forward to him feeling better and becoming a happy, content baby.

That, of course, can only make for a happy, content Mommy . . .

Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry! I wish I had words to make things better right now. Time will definitely be the healer for your little one. Hugs to you guys! Dave, have a safe and uneventful deployment.

I'm so sorry that you are having such a rough time. I know it's ridiculously difficult but try to remember the other children as babies so that you can cling to the "this too shall pass" idea with some belief.

Praying for you, girlfriend. For, well, everything. Context: Buck-nekkid Jack on the counter with a butter knife and plugged-in toaster seems pretty normal now. :D Hang in there.

Thank you, Dave. We will pray faithfully for you as well.

I know I'm quite late on this, sorry! When my now 5 yr old was a baby I got a yeast infection in my breast and one of my dearest friends and mother who nursed all 7 of her children told me of a natural way to clear it up Apple Cider Vinegar and water. Pour in say 1/2 cup of ACV with equal parts water, then lay a wash cloth in the bowl and then tag the wash cloth and from the top of your breast run it down to the nipple. You may feel the infection and it may burn a little, it's just the infection moving out. It can take a couple days.

I personally like to use on my own babies breast milk, just squirt some on the bottom and normally it's cleared up by the next day! I squirt with each diaper change. It can be used on pink eye and other things too! Breast milk is AMAZING! My friend Emily did the pink eye thing too with her now 5 yr old when she was a baby, it cleared it right up!

I know this is late, but if you have this issue again, it's an alternative to try!!
