A Must Read

A Long Way Gone - Memoirs of a Boy Soldier is one of the best books I have read.
At age twelve, Ishmel fled the attacking rebels and spent months wandering in the jungles of Sierra Leone. At age thirteen, he was picked up by the government army, and was trained to do the unimaginable. In a calm and collected manner, he describes his life in the army, killing and torturing his fellow countrymen.
When he turns sixteen, UNICEF removes him from the front and brings him, and a handful of other boys, to a rehabilitation program. How do you rehabilitate a person who enjoyed contests to see who could slit the throat of a prisoner the fastest?
Great, great read.
