Works For Me Wednesday

Ok. I know a GPS sounds crazy for a WFMW, but let me tell you a little about this wonder!

We move a lot. By the time I get to know an area, it's time to move again. I spend most of my time driving with a map in one hand, trying to figure how to get out the seedy area I have gotten us into. When my hubby mentioned buying one, I thought for sure it was another toy disguised as a this-will-make-life-easier-for-you gadget. Let me tell you. I love this thing! It has made this move much easier!

I have seen these things posted all over TV, magazines, etc. I thought it was only a map in a box until I started to play with it. One of the features I use the most is punching in an address and getting directions to the place. It talks to me, telling me when to turn so I never have to hover over a map again. If I miss the turn, which happens often, it will recalculate to take me another way. I doesn't give up, which is something I tend to do often in a new place!

Want to find a place to eat? Punch the "Food" button and then the type of meal you are looking for: Fast Food, Italian, etc. Looking for Walmart? Type in Walmart and you will get directions to every Walmart within a 200 mile radius. If you are looking, it will find.

This has helped me tremendously. It comes out of the car so we take it with us when taking a trip. Put it in your backpack and it can help you find all sorts of things. Rather than walk and walk with tired kids, we know what's at the top of the road.

I know this may sound like an extravagant toy, but as a family who moves and travels all the time, this has helped us so much. I never knew all that it could do, and therefore I thought it was just another lame thing to play around with. Was I ever wrong! I love our GPS!

I LOVE MY GPS! We have the same one, and it has been invaluable. I love the resteraunt finder, attraction finer on trips, and the gas locater was a life saver on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. We actually call her Tina when she is in American English and Bridget when she is in British English

I know what you mean! It's helped us so much in terms of finding everything. It's hard to go "hunting" with kids and this saves so much time.
I will have to change her voice! I didn't know you could do that. My kids will LOVE it. :)

We love ours too. Used it today to find the closet grocery store. Saved hours as we were camping and had no clue where we were let alone where a store might be!
It is nice to have the responsibilty of finding our way in strange places taken away. No more turn left...whoops..I meant right..

That sounds very handy. I'm like you were, I never thought it would come in that handy. I'll have to take a second look, lol.
