I had my annual lady's exam today, along with hundreds of other things I needed to get done in a three hour, childless period of time. This was going to be in and out. No time to elaborate on the many forms of birth control I could choose from, is this and that normal, regular, heavy or light, etc.
I was on a roll. Ready to roll in, strip, lay down, jump up, dress, and sprint out the door.
That was until I heard my practitioner ask me "Hmmmm . . .How long has this lump been in your armpit?"
That is a question that will slow you down in a hurry.
Lump. In my armpit. "It's a lymph node that feeds to and from the breast" she explains.
I thought it was just some plugged sweat duct. Wrong.
So instead of what to expect from a new form of birth control we talked about what to expect during a mammogram.
Instead of dwelling on monthly cycles we talked about what this unwelcome visitor could be.
"I'm sure it will be OK. "
"Try not to worry too much".
This is not at all what I had in mind when I started my day . . .

Amy! When will you find out? I hope everything turns out okay! I did have a benign tumor in my breast once that had to be removed, it was scary waiting for the results...hugs!
Praying with you, Amy! Lots of hugs...
