A Favorite Time of Year!

It's shoebox time! Every year my kids and I have a great time filling a shoebox for a child in need. I would encourage everyone to fill a shoebox, or a similar size plastic container, with all sorts of goodies. Visit the Dollar Store and you can pack a great box for around ten dollars.

These boxes are generally packed with hygiene items, clothing such as socks, pens, paper, markers, small toys, etc. They encourage families to stick a note in the box with your address as there is a chance that the child will write to you!

If you are unsure where to take your box, the website has a list of drop off locations. This is a huge project, and many churches serve as drop off locations. If you are unsure about the validity of the project, visit the website for some great information and videos. There is no doubt about the greatness of this project when you see the joy on the faces of thousands of children. Enjoy!

Amy, thanks for the early reminder of this great ministry! I think the girls and I will hit the dollar store this weekend and enjoy this project together before the holiday craziness creeps up on us! I appreciate your efforts to reach out to others...
