Trying to Plan a Perfect Party

After years of pacifying my kids with family parties at Chuck E Cheese, my soon to be four year old wants to have a Monster Truck/Herbie/Race Car Party. I've tried to make a "family" gathering appealing, but he has no interest. He wants everyone to come to his party. I'm sure you're invited as well.

My original plan was to have it at Chuck E Cheese. Oh no. Jack wants them to come here so they can see his house. Awwww. How sweet. Actually, I'm over the sweet thing. I'm now trying to figure out how I let my four year talk me into allowing his whole preschool into our home for two hours.

Parties are nuts!! I went Birthday Express and quickly had $300.00 in my cart. No can do with a move one month away. My hubby came up with a free party plan. Here goes:

1. Race around the house with the fertilizer spreader. The fastest time around the house gets to sweep off the driveway after . . . .
2. A entertaining show of Dave moving the lawn.
3. Food will consist of peanut butter on whatever is still in the pantry. We are trying to "clean out" as we get closer to our move.
4. Shoot each other with the hose. That is if the temperature is actually above fifty which is only a 50-50 chance this time of year.

Wow. And to think I was actually excited when he told me he had come up with "a plan".

So I am back to the drawing board. I'd love to hear some party ideas that have worked for you. You can leave your ideas in the comments so others can benefit as well!

What amazes me is that my "baby" is going to be four! Where did the time go? I tend to get a little emotional around birthday time as I look at their baby videos and remember all "those" moments. I tend to snort the Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo as I think about their fuzzy, clean heads, pratically eat Dreft, and touch every newborn outfit at the store. I ask my hubby, all teared up, "can we please have just one more?" He tends to sleep in the other bedroom around birthday time for fear of attack.

As much as I miss those newborn times, I love where we are now. I love that my hubby dressed up as Santa Claus, sneaking around our home with presents, all of which I was recording. Their screams and laughs the next morning were just as good as a J&J Shampoo moment. I love being the Tooth Fairy and Easter Bunny rather than a set of nursing breasts. I love being a mom that yells at T-Ball games and races on her bike with her competative son. We're having a great time. Now let me see if I can find a picture of my beautiful baby . . . Sniff . . Sniff . . :)

Krent and I laughed so hard at Dave's party ideas! This post was too funny! Hmmm, party ideas...Krent likes Dave's idea. I'd say have Dave dress up as a Kangaroo and put on a show! Seriously though, how about a treasure hunt in the backyard and maybe a water balloon game?

I think it would be great if Dave would commandeer a tank, and come pick up all forty-thousand of the little rugrats. Then he could take them on a tour of the base. He could also take them to McD's on the way home.

Your welcome.

Pops and Nannie like the idea of the tank..but a water balloon toss would surely be a hit. Do it at the end though so they can go home. Moms will love you when they come to pick up their soaked darlings. How about decorate your own cupcake.or carry an egg on a spoon relay ...I can see that the weather is going to be key...
Good luck..little girls likes to make stuff but I don't see four year old boys being excited about that idea. Think fast and loud....
Maybe they would like the game where you have to sit on a balloon and pop it..relay style..
these are all games we play at the end of school.
