A Great Conversation With My Six Year Old Neighbor
The setting is my backyard where we are playing in the sandbox. Anna is with us as well.
Nick: "Ummm . . . Is she from Michigan?" He is staring at Anna very hard and seriously.
Me: "No, she is from China".
Nick: "I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT!" Very serious again. "How did she get here?"
Me: "We went and brought her home on an airplane."
Nick: "Why would you want to do that?"
Me: "Well we wanted another child in our home and Anna needed a home."
Nick: "But don't her Mommy and Daddy miss her?"
Me: Speechless again.
